January, Headspace & What’s Next for Be OK Garage

January, Headspace & What’s Next for Be OK Garage

The Christmas period can be a strange one.

For some people it’s a break, for others it’s full-on chaos. Family, expectations, money, routine completely out the window. Even when it’s good, it can still be exhausting. Then January arrives — cold, dark, short days — and suddenly everything feels heavier than it should.

If you’re feeling flat, unmotivated, or just off, you’re not alone.

January Is Hard — And That’s Okay

January has a habit of making people feel like they’re already behind.

Maybe your waistline isn’t where you want it to be.

Maybe your bank balance took a hit over Christmas.

Maybe the motivation you promised yourself on January 1st hasn’t shown up yet.

That doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you’re human.

The pressure to “reset”, “grind”, or completely reinvent yourself overnight does more harm than good. Progress doesn’t need to be dramatic — it just needs to be honest.

Sometimes keeping your head above water is the win.

A Few Simple Ways to Get Through the Tough Weeks

Nothing revolutionary here — just things that genuinely help.

  • Lower the bar. You don’t need to fix everything at once. Pick one small thing you can control today.
  • Move a little. A walk, a short drive, even just getting outside in daylight helps more than people realise.
  • Talk to someone. You don’t need a solution — just saying things out loud can quiet the noise.
  • Stop beating yourself up. You didn’t undo years of progress in a few weeks. January is not a judgement month.

Be OK Garage has never been about pretending everything’s perfect. It’s about showing up anyway.

Change Is Coming at Be OK Garage

With a new year comes some big changes.

One chapter is closing — the Skyline will be moving on. It’s been a huge part of the journey, and letting it go isn’t easy, but growth means knowing when it’s time to move forward.

And forward we are going.

A new build is on the way, this time from a German manufacturer. It’s a different direction, a new challenge, and something we’re genuinely excited to share properly as it unfolds. This one is about learning, taking risks, and building something with real intent behind it.

New Merch, New Energy

We’ll also be dropping new limited merch lines throughout the year.

Nothing mass-produced, nothing forced — just simple pieces that mean something. Wearable reminders of the message behind Be OK Garage:

Drive cars. Make friends. Be OK.

Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Shows, Miles & Community

2026 is the year we say yes more often.

We’ll be aiming to get to as many shows as possible across Ireland and the UK — not just to park cars, but to meet people, talk, and build the community properly. Online is great, but nothing replaces real conversations in car parks and show fields.

If you see us, come say hello. Even if it’s just a nod.

A Year for Growth — and a Few Risks

This year isn’t about playing it safe.

It’s about growth, taking chances, trying things that might not work, and learning as we go. Some things will land, some won’t — and that’s fine. Standing still was never the goal.

If you’re reading this and January feels heavy, just know this:

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need to keep going.

We’ll do the same.

Drive Cars. Make Friends. Be OK.
